Open Gardens 2015

A FEAST OF FLOWERS AND FAMILY FUN!
THE 24th LADY BAY OPEN GARDENS
Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th July 2015, 2pm – 6pm

The ever popular Lady Bay Open Gardens is now in its 24th year and will be taking place on the weekend of 4th and 5th July from 2pm to 6pm. If you've been before, you'll know what a great day out it is for all age groups. If you haven't, you're in for a real treat. The trail is in a very pleasant and mainly Victorian suburban setting between the Grantham Canal and the River Trent.

A Feast Of Flowers

There will be at least 18 family gardens of all shapes and sizes to see over the 2 days, including 6 new ones, never before opened. And as well as a feast of flowers, you're likely to see small cottage gardens, vegetable plots, wildflower meadows, formal landscaped gardens and plenty of ponds and wildlife. There will also be plant sales and information on gardening and the environment. People love to look around to pinch people's ideas or just have a good nosey!

A Feast Of Family Fun

There will be plenty of entertainment with activities for kids, crafts and live music. The Community Choir, Belly Dancers and Kid's Zumba are already lined up for Saturday at various venues. On Sunday the Sea Shanties will be performing at 2.30 at the Lady Bay Pub and 4.30 at the Poppy and Pint. In addition, the Human Jukebox and home-made wine at 131 Holme Rd are always a great attraction.

Refreshments

The Scout Hut on Mona Rd will be serving teas, cakes and other refreshments and Holme Lodge Cheshire Home will be serving cream teas at 1, Julian Rd. With two great pubs, cafes and other local amenities, it promises to be a great day out.

And All In A Good Cause

The money raised will be all be going to the Lady Bay Community Fund and various charities nominated by garden owners as well as fundraising for the New Scout Hut Building Fund and Cheshire Disability.

Access

Map Passports to cover all gardens are still just £2.50 for adults and free for accompanied children. They will be available at any of the participating gardens, which will be identified with yellow balloons. A map will also be displayed at the Post Office on Trent Boulevard.
